He chose us . . .

Prayer Requests:

“Even as [in His love] He chose us . . . that we should be holy and blameless in His sight, even above reproach, before Him in love. For He foreordained us to be adopted as His own children through Jesus Christ.” Ephesians 1:4-5

~ Pray for the girls to know they are loved, special and valuable because God chose them to be His children.

~ Pray for the girls to press into their issues and not be overcome by the physical ailments they might have as a result of all that they are coping with.

~ Pray for all of our former students, please pray for their well-being and their continued relationship with their Lord. We have several students that have contacted us recently.

~ Pray for incoming students. We know God's timing is perfect, and it takes an amazing amount of love and patience as the dynamics change with new princesses. Picture a baby coming home :)

~ Pray for stress levels to be alleviated or for the girls to surrender everything to the Lord. Many situations are causing stress, and it has affected the health of a few of the girls.

~ Pray for healing.

He is the Faithful God

The girls had a great time last week in cooking class – they each got to decorate their very own cake! Their creativity was fun to watch, and the end results were beautiful (and yummy)!

Prayer Requests:

~ Pray for the girls to “Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; He is the faithful God, keeping His covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love Him and keep His commands.” Deuteronomy 7:9

~ Pray for each of the girls at Agape School and their faith walk. We praise our Savior for His indescribable gift of loving us.

~ Please continue to pray for one of our students struggling with being here all day.

~ Please pray for the girls to make their very best effort next week, as they are counting the days until they are off for Spring Break!

~ Pray for one of the students who left our program to go back to public school, that she always remember who she is in Christ.

~ Pray for the spiritual, emotional and physical well being of the staff, and that they continue to be filled with wisdom and discernment (and energy), as they walk in love beside those who come through the doors at Agape each and every day.

“Thank you, Lord, that You give me all the strength and ability that I need in order to do what You have called me to do.” I Timothy 1:12

~ Pray for the girls continued progress, and that their eyes are opened to live their life to its fullest in Christ.

Praise Reports:

~ Praise God for continued improvement by many girls in speaking the truth in love and working out differences in love and peace; and having a sincere desire to do what God wants from each of us.

~ Praise God for those who are being good stewards of all that God has entrusted to our care.

~ Praise God for the gift of forgiveness.

~ Praise God for the chicken, ground beef and other items donated to help with meal preparation!

We do need help with some odds and ends as we go through the process of completing the Sanctuary renovation. Please contact us if you are interested in helping out.

“Thank you, Jesus, that You will ease and refresh my soul when I am weary and that You will cause me to rest. Thank You that Your yoke is not harsh, hard, sharp or pressing, but comfortable, gracious and pleasant and that Your burden is light and easy to bear.” Matthew 11:28-30

Welcome the Kingdom of God

“Truly, I tell you, whoever does not receive and accept and welcome the kingdom of God like a little child does, positively shall not enter it at all.” Mark 10:15

Prayer Requests:
~ Pray for the girls to understand how to welcome the kingdom of God like a little child so that they shall definitely enter it.
~ Pray for a troubled young girl who needs daily prayer on behalf of her spiritual walk; also for her to have the ability to trust after being discouraged many times by adults. Our prayer is that she learn to walk with Jesus each step of the day.
~ Please continue to pray for one of our students struggling with being here all day.

Praise Reports:
~ Praise God for Ron Meissen’s generous donation for train tickets for the girls to go to the Art Institute of Chicago. We were blessed to see many famous artworks, including Picasso, Degas, Monet, Georgia O’Keefe, Grant Wood and many more. We were blessed with safe travel, beautiful weather, wonderful chaperones (Angel Patterson and Trish Johnson), and an especially enlightening day of culture, history and art.

~ Praise God for several students completing credits for their electives. God is so good and so many girls are advancing in their studies by their daily efforts of plugging along and disciplining themselves to complete required work for graduation requirements – we are encouraged!

~ Praise God for self-control on behalf of several students who struggle with this character trait.

~ Praise God for learned skills of waiting for a chance to speak, learning to enter a room quietly, journal writing, and tremendous improvement in writing skills!

~ Praise God for another amazing discovery: a table that was donated for our conference room, which we’ve been using for over 2 years now, is being used for the computer class which Judy Kidder is teaching once a week. Now that we have enough laptops to sit 5 girls around the table, we discovered this table wasn’t long enough for 5 laptops to fit around it. Wondering if it had a leaf, we looked under the table, and to our delight and amazement, there was one built right in – God is soooo good!

~ Praise God for all the wonderful food angels who donate, cook, serve and delight us with their culinary masterpieces.

~ Continued praise for our faithful staff; an army of volunteers heaven-sent, who provide encouragement, tutoring, and love to the girls each day, as well as those who do the occasional maintenance around the school and home. To God be the Glory!!!
